I live in India.
It is said that used tea leaves(after washing to cast off traces of sugar) are god for roses.
Is it true?
I dont want to use any chemical fertilizer/manure for my roses, so are there ant other options avaailable to me?

experts are requested to opine.

regards
mahesh

Welcome Mahesh. Do you mean tea leaves?? yeah you can use it.
But why the hell is there sugar in it??? boil it seperately. then pour it through your tea filter in your cup that has milk and sugar.

Old tea leaves and coffee grounds are very good for your roses in moderation. Roses are acid loving and both will provide just that for them.

For my every two week fertilization feeding, I like to take a banana peel or a banana past ripe, 1/2 tsp. of Miracle Gro for Roses, 1 cup water and a pinch of old coffee ground of one old tea leaf. Mix all in an old blender you don't use for yourself and blend. Scratch the dirt around your roses, for easy absorption and give 1 cup to hybrid teas and floribundas and any large roses and 1/2 cup to miniatures.

If you have to many roses for that kind of fuss, just sprinkle the coffee grounds and tea leaves around the base of the plant and scratch it into the soil. Use only a pinch though. That's all they need at one time.

I agree. Banana contains lots of potassium.

@Rikesh-I appreciate your solution.
But now I am using a separate earthen plant pot(with soil but no plant) to collect the used tea leaves.
I shall be adding this soil to my rose plants after a fixed interval of time.

@julie- Thanks a lot for the information.

I dont know whether miracle gro is available in my city.

one more question - In rose plant pots soil should have some sand?(to facilitate effective water drainage and no clogging)

No, Mahesh, you should have good potting soil in the pot. That should be all that's needed. Make sure the pot has a couple of 1/4 - 1/2" holes in the bottom for drainage. You can put some packaging peanuts on the bottom of the pot to keep the soil from falling out when you water it. You can also use rocks instead of the packaging peanuts, but it will make your pot much heavier.

I hope this helps.

Poor Rupee... The Dollar is always higher than it
Hahahaha
I really do understand you. We've got the same problem here. If something is available, it would be quite expensive.

@julie: Thanks
plz tell me, why sometimes a bud (without turning into a flower)drops(becoming dry and feeble) in the initial
stage?Is it due to lack of water or something else?
I feed my rose plants with water twice a day.
And it is interesting that leaves are not dry.
waiting for your esteem opinion.
