I don't think it is a lavender flower The flower in your photo is star-shaped....

It's either a campanula (Bell flower) or Balloon flower.
Does it have a great big round fat bud before opening?
Balloon flowers are taller, but this looks like one.
THere are tons of campanulas also that are purple like yours.

Hello,
I was unable to see a bud. The flowers are located kinda underneath the green part of a daylily, so didn't even know we had them until they bloomed! Thank you!

I have Campanulas also & they spread everywhere & the roots go deep & verticle like small tubers.
