I took this picture at the Botanic Gardens in Washington DC a few months back and forgot to look to see what it's called.I'd really like to try and grow this flower, but I need to know what it's called.

I uploaded the picture to imageshack so you can (hopefully) help me identify it:

It looks like one of the Bromeliad or Guzmania family,

it turns out its a hohenbergia stellata,
