Red Rose For Mother’s Day

Red roses continue to be the most popular way to say “I love you” to someone special. This year we did just that for Mother’s Day! My son and I had a blast in the kitchen cutting apples and baking them itno mini-loafs of bread. We paired them up with prints of a recently completed red rose painting (below). To continue the red theme, we packaged everything up into a red kitchen bowl, added red and pink tissue paper and some apples and off we went! Both moms loved their tasty home made treats and rose paintings. Painting the rose was a rewarding challenge - I wanted to capture the rich red petals and velvet texture. Here is a warm wish to all mom’s for Mother’s Day and the month of May!
