red pineapple flower

I recently went to a plantation in Jamaica. The tour guide showed us a flower that looks like a red pineapple. She said that the flower blooms only once every 25 years. It seemed a bit fishy to me, so I wanted to check if it was true. I don't know the name of it. I've looked everywhere on the internet for that flower, and I can't find it. Has anyone ever heard of such flower???

Boop009, welcome to the forum This sounds pretty far off to me. I have also tried to search for a flower blooming only once in 25 years on the internet but came up with zilch. It might be true.... But to me it sounds like it isn't.
