I'm trying to find out the name of a flowering vine that I once saw. It was started with seeds that were apparently obtained by drying out the flowers from another vine. The leaf part of the vine was very quick climbing - climbed and covered an average size lattice in a matter of only a few weeks. The flowers are a deep magenta to a purple. I don't recall that they occurred in clumps. I'm thinking they were individual blooms. Any ideas what this could be?

There's a plant called hyacinth bean that sounds like what you're describing, but it does have reddish purple beans on it. I'm sure you would have noticed them!

Thank you so much for the response. I'm thinking it might have been the Hyacinth Bean now that I have googled pics of that. Completely forgot about the beans. It's been a while. Thanks again!
