One Seed Chicago

Have you ever heard of One Seed Chicago?
a Blurb from the website explains:

Each year One Seed Chicago selects one plant to be the focus of a season-long celebration. Imagine thousands of the same vegetable or flower linking community gardens, yards and window sills across the City!

I think that is such a great Idea. The candidates were Beet Okra Cucumber and Bean, it seems that bean is the chosen one this year.

The fact the the plants chosen are all vegetables makes it twice as wonderful, though, I could totally live in a city covered with sweet peas in every garden and on every balcony.
Maybe I should see if I can get that going in my neck of the wood.
