I'm trying to figure out what type of flower I just dug up. At first I thought it was a daylily, but the leaves were broader/wider than daylily leaves. Then, I discovered this gigantic bulb--black on the outside, white on the inside. It has not bloomed yet this year. Anyone know what kind of flower this is?

well, it wouldn't let me upload the pics, so i'll try again. i will mention that the leaves are grass-like--floppy, and they are not wide enough or stiff enough to be irises.
