The big daddy leaves are heavy by themselves, but rain can weigh them down alot more - did you notice if the leaves that were dying happened to be broken (usually down by the ground?)

I agree Radish leaves will turn yellow with age so if your radish leaves are yellowing on the lager older leaves only then this is probley your trouble.
