We planted some Canna bulbs and some other bulbs from Walmart last year, and only one of this type survived. I have no idea what it is, it's getting ready to bloom for the first time. It looks like an Iris stem, but where the bud is developing it looks like braided stems, very unique looking, I never seen anything like it. Does anyone have a clue what it is? I went from Lily to Dahlia, but none have this thick a stem growing. It's approximately 2' tall.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I will post it in the photo album under "mystery plant". Thanks

Blossom

I am referring the the green tall plant. It looks braided. I think we figured it out, it's a gladiola, a very tall one. It's almost 4 ft. tall now and has red buds I can tell, that will be red flowers. I will post a pic when it blooms. I just had never seen such an awesome, kewl looking braided stem before...........
