I just bought some plants for the dappled shade front garden. There are 3 that I don't have ID's on, and I'll post the remaining 2 in replies. Thanks for your help!

You pick some odd looking but very beautiful plants.

On that first one, are those red flowers or leaves?

I'd have to guess leaves? They don't have much of a flower-like formation. They came in bright orange, and red as well. (both of which probably would have photographed better than neon pink! LOL)

My gardens are really just a mish-mash of unique looking flowers that I've picked up haha. No rhyme or reason for this one

#2 looks very much like Fushia to me, usually sold as a hanging plant.

I thought Fushia also when I bought it, but it was just in a normal pot, not a hanging basket like it's often seen.
Maybe it's a variety of Fushia... if anyone knows the variety, I'd love to know to help me get some info on it (there were no labels whatsoever on the pots.)

I think I may have happened across the first one flipping through my plant book - it may be Celosia. Any thoughts?

Has anyone overwintered fushia? or celosia? They were in the perennial area of the store, but any info I've read says otherwise.

If it it Celosia, everything I can find on it says it is an annual.

Your fuchsia would appear to be a "Pink Galore". Good news for it is it can be overwintered, but I think you will have to bring it inside in your zone.

Check these links.

I just bumped into another fuchsia at the nursery (literaly, I wasn't looking where I was going and smacked my head right on the basket). It was solid pink like yours, it was a "South Gate"

Your third photo appears to be a Salvia with most of the flowers fallen off the stem. I believe it is an annual also.

Great, thanks Quinton! You're very helpful! I must have been in the wrong area of the nursery then... I thought I was in the perennials (since I got some violas in that area.) Or perhaps they just had random plants everywhere!

And you're bang on with the Salvia ID... that picture looks exactly like the one little flower that hadn't fallen off!

Also, while I was at the nursery, I showed them the first photo. They thought it was an Amaranthus rather than a Celosia.

I have looked at several photos on line and I can't make my mind up as to which I think it is.
