80. Deutsia gracillis

81. Stewartia pseudocamellia *This was my mystery shrub/tree I wrote about last time

83. Taxus sp.

84. Hydrangea aspera

85. Phlox (Phlox paniculatum) *One of the purple cultivars

86. Cosmos

1. Mystery Shrub With White flower clusters

*Notes: There were dried star shaped seed pods from last year still on it. Managed to pick some of the flowers yet to open.

Plus I also finally found someone who could help me put a name to all these beauties! Finally….♥ Park volunteers! Extremely happy as that will help out alot.

I just looked up phlox and am shocked at all the variety and colors in these flowers! So pretty! Will be posting soon. I have to go ID hunting as usual. =)

So... what do you think? Please leave me a comment.

First off apologies for such a long abscence life’s been hectic. Plus I haven’t been able to get out much due to Mother Nature’s “Wet Season” X_X But when I did I found more precious plants.

72. Hazel Nut Tree

73. Sticky Willy (Gallium aparine)

74. Hophornbeam (Ostrya virginianna)

75. Red Maple

76. Solanum sp. *Gonna research this now and edit when I find answers.

77. Verbena ‘Obsession W/ Blue Eye’ *Tag lists it as an F1 Hybrid What is this?

Some couple was getting married or taking their wedding photos underneath it (Red Maple). So beautiful……♥

Aaaand:

Mystery Seed Pods 1 *Been sending me on a wild goose chase trying to find out what these are. Will edit for details later

Mystery Tree/Shrub with BIG white shiny flowers.

I also think they might have Hickories too. I’m not sure but I’ve always seen lots of cracked nutshells that remind me of them. I’ll have go back and check. I have more research to do later.

So expect updates!! I also have to go bug some people on the forum after I take a little nap. *^^* Miss me? :P

See you later!

Ok major sorries for not updating lately. I’ve been INSANELY busy with alot of things but I managed to get out on the 9th and pick a crapload of flowers. 99% are ones that I’ve never seen in my beloved park before last year. 0_0

In other words: new arrivals! Yippee!

Elfenblume (Epimedium x versicolor)

Mystery Plants Solved:

60. Jetbead

61. Barrenwart (Epimedium versicolor) *Pictured

Notes: E. versicolor was one of my mystery plants from last time. Let me tell you that one was bugging me. I had originally thought they were some sort of Columbines once I went back and got a nice look at them……in other words I picked some. *^^* Before that I thought they looked like daffodils. X_X Nice cross between the 2 don’t you think (even though I know they’re not :P)?

Continuing from last entry:

65. Silene latifolia

66. Spanish Bluebells (Endymion hispanicus) *Synonym Can’t remember the current Latin name. Too lazy to check right now. :P

Notes: I can’t believe that at one point these were classified under Scilla!! WTF! Man that’s cool and kinda weird because they look NOTHING like your “typical Squills”. These may or may not be new arrivals as I remember seeing blue/purple flowers on the hills last year too but I couldn’t check on them properly cause I didn’t want to climb the **** things and break my neck. ^^;; This year I discovered shortcuts to get up them easier. YAY! ^_______^

67. Common Camas (Camassia sp.) *Probably C. quamash

Notes: They had Dark blue/purple and white-ish blue varieties. These are new as they weren’t here last year.

68. Drooping Star of Bethlehem (Ornithogalum nutans) *New arrivals? Didn’t see any last year

69. Allium sp.

Notes: Weren’t here last year to my knowledge. But when I found these they were in one of my “undiscovered areas” sooooo you never know! *^^*

70. Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus)

Notes: Found 2 small bushes. However there’s a BIG BIG one right outside the pool by my house and there were Digger Bees and Greenbottle flies all over it. They were “violating” that thing like CRAZY. Enjoyed watching them immensely.

71. Honeysuckle again! Trying to narrow it down to species!

Holy! I JUST went searching for free license photos for Allium and look!

This is the one I picked. Which one is it? The flower stems were green though but other then that this is it. Holy that’s cool!

My mystery tulip is STILL bugging me and remaining illusive but I’ll continue searching but it’s HARD. X_X

Gotta go eat and go to bed now! Will update ASAP!!

So ONCE again I went to my beloved park and was so GREATLY rewarded:

62. Tulipa saxatilis “Lilac Wonder”

*Notes: Went exploring deeper I guess you could say into my beloved park and found a treasure trove of flowers. This was one of them. I consider these “new arrivals” since I didn’t see any last year but then again I didn’t go deeper into the park last year so you never know. =)

63. Silverbell Tree (Halesia tetraptera?)

*Notes: New arrivals? There was one newly planted and I picked some of the flowers. *^^* There was one other one that was planted in the area most of the magnolias are planted but Idk if it was there last year or not. Went researching these further and found out that the seed pods look like my bushwillows! 0_0 I’m wondering if my bushwillows are actually silverbells? Will have to go back and check.

64. Ornithogalum sp. (NOT Star of Bethlehem)

Mystery flowers 1 & 2 that I mentioned last time are still bugging me. X_X Remember the one I tole you looked like a daffodil of some sort but obviously wasn’t? I got a look today and I picked some and I think they’re some sort of columbine.

BUT when I looked on Google nothing of the sort came up. Smh……Details:

*They’re tiny and yellow and columbine like. They have their characteristics.

*The leaves are heart shaped and green with red around the edges.

*They’re about 10 or more flowers going down from the stem. Cute little plant

Any ideas? Is there a columbine like this or is it another flower entirely? I wish I had a picture but I’ll keep searching until I find one.

Mystery flower #2 reminded me of a begonia but it’s obviously not. Kinda hard to describe this one. Will need a pic. *Searching searching searching*

Gonna rest for tonight and hope I find some answers tomorrow.

Bugs:

3 butterflies ( 2 cabbage whites and 1 silvery checkerspot? Idk what it was it was beautiful though)

3 HUGE carpenter bees (Xylocopa sp.)

So happy! Found more daffodils! Gonna try and narrow them down to disivision/cultivar and get back to you. ^_^

See ya later!! Credit for Photo col&tasha from Flickr Linky: Clicky!

It’s updated again!!

57. Tulipa biflora (When I picked these like 2 weeks ago? I died from happiness cause I never thought these would pop up here!)

58. Grape Hyacinths! (Muscari sp.)

59. Serviceberry!

60. Mystery Flower #1 Begonia like but grew very tall and had “woody stems” growing underneath/near dead or “dormant” tree of some sort. Has thorns? Something pricked me while I was picking some. 0_0

61. Mystery Flower #2 VERY tiny daffodil like yellow flowers but quite obviously not a daffodil.

61a. Daffodil, Division 5 ‘Thalia’ FINALLY narrowed one down! Although this one’s new! Wasn’t here last year!

Doing research on all these! Expect and edit/update!! Photo is from Flickr.

Ps. Found an orange tulip that smelled like CANDY! OMG!
