I am searching for a Jackson & Perkins rose called "Graceland". I had purchased one a few years ago for my Mother-In-Law who recently passed away. Just before we moved here into our home her rose bush was destroyed by a neighbor. Her ashes have been placed in a rose garden of a local cemetery and I have been given permission to plant a rose bush in her memory next to her name plate. Mom was an Elvis nut and that was the reason we purchased that rose in the first place and we thought she should have one near her now. I have tried Google and several nurseries with no luck. I am even willing to take a cutting if someone could get one for me. If anyone has one of the rose bushes and would be willing to let me have a cutting I would appreciate it. I am in Oregon and have no problem paying for shipping. Any help anyone could give me would be appreciated.

Thank You
Sherrell

Sherrell, welcome to this forum

What awful people those neighbors

I've been trying to dig something up for you from the net, although I'm far from the US, and think that I might have found something, and even if not so, you might inquire there where you could get them.

This nursery says to carry Jackson & Perkins roses and their name is Al Peterkort and they are located in Hillsboro Oregon, tel: 503-628-1005....

Good luck and please let me know if and when you found what you're looking for.

I've been looking as well. I could have sworn I just saw something about Graceland just recently, but that may have been at a rose convention. I have a feeling that Graceland is a retired rose now and will be very hard to find. However, check with these suppliers:

Burkard Nurseries Inc., California, http://www.burkardnurseries.com/

Green Garden Nurseries, Florida

Nelsons' Florida Roses, Florida, http://www.nelsonsfloridaroses.com/

I couldn't find any information on Green Garden, however, you can try here...https://kellweb.com/~arsorg/pdf/ NurseryGuide2006.pdf
This is the list of the American Rose Society's vendors and you don't need to be a member to go here. You may have to call them to inquire. In many cases, they have roses in their back stock that they don't put up for sale to the public.

Good luck. Let us know how you do.

Hi-
Just read your message about the Graceland rose. I have one!!! I planted one 15 years ago at a former home and tried in vain to get another one several years later when we moved. Couldn't find one anywhere. I ended up going over to the old house at night in between owners, digging up Graceland and replacing with another. I would be happy to send you a cutting. Where abouts in Oregon do you live?

My grandma died when my mom was just 16. Two of my grandmas favorite things were yellow roses, and Elvis Presley. A number of years ago, my mom came across a rose called Graceland, which was a yellow rose, it had always reminded her of my grandma Louise. I think that rosebush was left at her old house, and the new house owners had dug it up and thrown it away. Ever since then, my mom hasn't been able to find that same flower. If anyone knows of a place that has that flower, or can find a place that has that flower, please let me know. Thanks!

Let this be a lesson to us all! If there is a rose that we love and we're moving, take them with you. Yes, you can if you stipulate in the agreement that you are taking them and replacing them with other roses. Check with the laws of your area. (Otherwise, dig them up and night and replace them before you move).

Now, with the lecture over, Graceland is a retired rose. Meaning that it is no longer in commerical production. Check with Rebecca, a post further down, and see if she is willing to share a piece of her Graceland with you. Ask her for three or four 6 to 8" cuttings. If she offers to root them for you, great. But if not and you need to know how to do this, write me, either here or privately and I'll help you through rooting them. It takes patience and vigilance to root a rose, but this is the only way to get Graceland anymore.

Good advise, Julie. People don't straight away think about the possibilities when moving homes and such things can be best written down in a sales-contract.

If Rebecca is still on here please contact me. I haven't been on here in awhile and I still would like a clippling of the Graceland Rose Bush. It would mean so much to our family. I sure hope you still check back here once in awhile.

Thanks so much

Hi-
I would love to send you a clipping. It's been raining so much here lately so haven't gone out to look at the rose in a couple of weeks. The petals need to have fallen off and the just the rose hips remaining. When that happens, I will get one to you. What is your address?

Hello, I look for a rosebush Graceland or Elvis. Because I love Elvis. I desesperate not to find. If somebody has a cutting or something so that I can cultivate it in my garden. I pay all the expenses naturally to send me it. (And I invite in my house the person on holidays in the southwest of France) thank you for answering me. Best regards

Unfortunately, my Graceland died. Had it for over fifteen years. Absolutely loved it, tried everything but just couldn't save it.
Sorry.

Hi Rebecca,

I have been looking for Graceland for many years. Like others I left it when I moved 9 years ago and I seriously doubt that any of my roses have survived.

If possible I would be absolutely ecstatic if you would be able to send me a cutting. I am willing to pay you and the postage too.

Please let me know if it is possible. I've never sent a message like this, my email address is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , I live in Southern California and would love to have my "Elvis" rose again.

Unfortunately, my Graceland passed away. I tried everything but it didn't help. Sorry. It was a beautiful rose and I miss going out to my patio and seeing that lovely yellow bloom.
